The old, cracked leather briefcase seemed to weigh a ton in Maya's hands. She hadn't slept properly in days. The pressure was suffocating. She felt a knot tighten in her chest as she approached the interview building. She spotted Kevin, another candidate, already chatting with a receptionist.

She felt the weight of her family’s hopes, their silent expectations, pressing down on her. Her older brother had secured her the chance at the interview. She couldn't disappoint him. She couldn’t let him down.

She took a breath and straightened her shoulders, a forced act of defiance against the overwhelming fear. She had to present herself well, confident and capable.
