The stale smell of cigarettes clung to Michael's coat as he sat on the grimy steps of the office building. He felt his hands begin to shake. He had just observed Jessica, his supposed doctor friend, working behind the counter at a pharmacy. He had shared his deepest secrets with her. He'd put all his faith in her.

He pulled the collar of his coat up and over his face, as if to ward off the pain. She knew he was unwell. She was supposed to be a trained professional, someone he could trust. He needed someone, anyone, to talk to. His world was crumbling around him.
