He stared at the menu, the words blurring before his eyes. It was like he was looking at the last will and testament of a beloved friend. A strange dizziness washed over him, making the air thick and heavy.

He had to order something. One last plate of linguine with clams. But what was the point? It wouldn’t last. Each bite felt like a precious drop of water, slowly evaporating. His appetite had vanished.
