Gemotions

The air crackled with an almost tangible tension. She sat frozen, staring at the screen. The profile, the pictures, the friends… it was all a complete fabrication. She'd been so convinced that her daughter's silence meant danger, but now it seemed she'd created the problem herself.

She took a shaky breath. Her chest felt constricted, as if a vise was squeezing the life out of her. The need to fix it, to undo the damage, overwhelmed her. She felt a desperate urgency to take everything back.

She began to pace the room, her footsteps echoing in the silence. She needed to know how this had happened. She needed answers. She stopped, grabbing her keys and wallet, and started to head out the door.
