The pungent smell of chemicals filled the small, cluttered darkroom. David, once a renowned photographer, observed his son, Sam, develop film with an almost religious devotion. Sam’s pursuit of photography, a passion nurtured by David's old cameras and equipment, now felt like a burden. David was grappling with significant debt, a mountain he couldn't seem to climb, he needed to make some tough decisions to get ahead, but Sam was lost in his own world. He clutched the keys to his vintage car tighter.

"Sam, are you sure you have the right chemicals?" David asked, his voice strained.

Sam looked up, his eyes gleaming with excitement. “Yep, Dad! It’s perfect!”

David leaned against the counter, the weight of his impending decisions pressing down on him. The future, for him, was looking bleak.
