Gemotions

The air conditioning seemed to be working overtime, chilling the room to an almost unbearable degree. It was probably a physical manifestation of her own feelings toward this whole charade. She shivered, pulling her cardigan tighter around her.

“So, about the quarterly reports…” the newcomer, a young man named David, began. "It's all on the shared drive, right?"

"Yes," she replied, her voice clipped. "Just like everything else." She stared out the window, watching the rain streak down the glass. The office felt like a cage. She watched David, who seemed determined to follow her every movement, and then went back to her computer.

She typed for a bit, then stood up and walked to the water cooler, leaving David to his own devices.
