"The Tea Room is closing," Amelia announced, her voice flat, devoid of any discernible emotion. She reread the email, her fingers tracing the words on her screen.

The Tea Room. With its floral wallpaper, the overly polite staff, and the excessively delicate sandwiches. It was all a bit much, really. She’d always found it slightly… ridiculous. Still, she had enjoyed the Earl Grey.

She sighed, a sound that was more of an expulsion of air than an expression of feeling. She didn't need the tea room. She had plenty of tea at home. She picked up a teacup from her kitchen counter and placed it back down, carefully, deliberately.
