Gemotions

The box felt cold and clammy against Amelia's skin. She unearthed it while repotting her prize-winning rose bushes. Curiosity had been her initial companion, but as she lifted the lid, an immediate sensation of revulsion washed over her. Yellowed newspaper clippings, a crumpled plastic dinosaur, and a handwritten note from a friend she hadn't spoken to in decades. A shudder ripped through her. She slammed the lid shut with more force than necessary, then hurried to rinse her hands at the garden tap, scrubbing furiously.
