A cold sweat slicked down Leo’s back as he sat in the dean’s office. He stared at the polished mahogany of the desk, trying to find some anchor, some point of focus. His heart hammered against his ribs, a frantic drumbeat against the silence. This couldn't be happening. He’d worked so hard.

He rubbed his temples, a dull ache throbbing behind his eyes. The accusations echoed in his mind, fragmented and disjointed. He kept replaying the events in his head, searching for some detail, some clue. His breath hitched in his throat.

The room seemed to tilt, the familiar walls becoming unfamiliar and threatening. He swallowed hard, struggling to keep the panic at bay. He felt a desperate urge to run, to escape the suffocating pressure of the moment.
