The bright lights of the reception hall seemed to amplify the colors, turning everything sharp and blinding. Leo felt a cold sweat prickle his skin. He was sure he’d forgotten how to blink. He had been enjoying himself, laughing and chatting with the bride's cousin, before… now he wanted nothing more than to retreat. He felt an intense need to disappear, to dissolve into the shadows.
