The weight of the old book was comforting in her hands, its cover smooth with age. She settled into the window seat, eager for a moment of peace. A letter, tucked between pages describing a ship and the sea, fell into her lap. She read a few lines, a chilling confession, and suddenly the room felt too small. The sunlight, once welcoming, now seemed to press in on her. She fumbled for her phone. Why was she shaking? What was this letter trying to tell her? She had to get out of here. She had to run.
