The librarian had recommended the book. He’d found himself drawn to the way the words felt in his hands. He'd been feeling…wrong. A letter, folded with meticulous care, emerged from the book's spine, as if waiting to be discovered. He read it, and a wash of unease settled over him. It spoke of a betrayal, of a love lost, and of a promise broken, all described in elegant prose. His vision blurred, he blinked. The words swam before his eyes. He felt a profound sense of loss, a sorrow he couldn't explain. He felt like he should know the writer.
