Gemotions

The worn leather-bound journal rested on the desk. He hadn't opened it in years, afraid to confront the memories held within its pages. His grandfather's journal. Now, it was to be sold, his father had announced with a forced smile.

He felt a sudden, overwhelming pressure in his chest, making it hard to breathe. The house, usually a sanctuary, felt alien and cold. The familiar scent of pipe tobacco, once comforting, now seemed to mock him.

He reached for the journal, his hand trembling. The world around him spun, the shadows lengthening and distorting. He couldn’t seem to find his bearings, the boundaries between the present and the past collapsing. He felt adrift, lost in a sea of unspoken emotions.
