The cafe buzzed with Sunday chatter, the aroma of burnt coffee mingling with the saccharine scent of pastries. Leo sat, absently swirling the dregs in his chipped mug. He felt…off. Something tugged at the edges of his awareness, a faint echo of a familiar melody. Then the piano chords hit. His song.

He blinked, a slow, deliberate movement. A young woman with a vibrant scarf sat at the grand piano, her fingers dancing across the keys with a practiced ease. The melody, his melody, flowed from her, altered, embellished, but undeniably his. He gripped the edge of the table, his knuckles white. The world around him seemed to tilt, the conversations blurring into a meaningless hum. He wasn’t prepared for this. He felt like he’d been pulled out of his body.

The waitress approached, a smile plastered on her face. "Everything alright, sir?" Leo just nodded dumbly, his gaze fixed on the pianist. He couldn't formulate a coherent response. He didn't know what was happening.
