The email arrived like a rogue wave. Dr. Chen was leaving. Leaving! Sarah reread the words, the screen blurring slightly. Her fingers felt numb as she scrolled through the announcement, confirming what she already knew. She abruptly pushed back from her desk, the chair screeching against the linoleum. Where was she supposed to put all this… this *stuff* now? Her research, her hopes, the entire project that had consumed her for the last two years.
