"You have a… brother," her mother had stammered, her voice cracking. Ethan felt the floor tilt beneath his feet. The news struck him with a force that sent a chill through him. He sank into the nearest chair, his legs suddenly heavy, leaden. The room seemed to shrink, the walls closing in. He stared at the framed family photos on the wall, each smiling face now a stranger.
