He felt his heart hammering in his chest, a frantic drumbeat against his ribs. He'd poured everything into this song. Months of writing, composing, recording, and now… The radio announcer was introducing the new track, the one he had just finished. The music was his, it had to be.

He sat in his car, gripping the steering wheel. The opening bars began to play. Then, he heard it, the melody, the arrangement, the exact lyrics. A hollow sensation took over him. He felt as if the world was tilting on its axis. He couldn't move. He felt like he had been punched in the gut.

He switched off the radio, but the music continued to play in his head. A relentless echo of his creation, now not his own. He was trapped in a nightmare, unable to wake up.
