"Uninspired?" Chef Anya repeated the word aloud, the critic's verdict echoing in the empty dining room. The polished tables and impeccably set silverware, usually a source of pride, now seemed to gleam mockingly under the soft lighting. A knot tightened in her chest, constricting her breath. Her hands felt clumsy, useless.

She walked slowly over to the window, watching the rain cascade down the glass. The city, usually a canvas of vibrant life, was shrouded in a grey, melancholic cloak. The thought of the long hours ahead, the pressure to create, felt unbearable. She had poured her heart into her food, and it had been deemed... lacking. She wanted to scream.
