Gemotions

The old film camera felt alien in Mark's hand. The click, the whir, the anticipation of the developed photograph had once been a source of endless fascination. Now, he dreaded the process. The darkroom, once a sanctuary, now seemed more like a desolate cave. The memories they held didn't quite fill the space.

His son, Daniel, had developed a passion, and was photographing everything. He studied techniques, experimented with different lenses, and filled rolls of film. “Dad, check this out,” Daniel would say, proudly displaying a photograph, his eyes gleaming with pride.

Mark would feign enthusiasm, but the joy in Daniel’s expression only served to highlight the void within him. The very things that he once loved now just felt...muted.
