He slumped onto the threadbare couch, the remote clattering onto the floor beside him. Another rejection email. Another day of staring at a blank screen. The weight on his chest made it hard to breathe. He’d promised himself he'd look through his father's belongings, something he’d been putting off for months.

He found it tucked inside a leather-bound diary, the pages brittle and yellowing. A draft letter, painstakingly written in his father's precise hand. The subject line read simply: “Resignation - Apex Industries.” The tone was professional, a polite goodbye. Reading it, a tremor passed through him.

His father, too, had felt the same crushing disappointment, the same… *blahness* in his work. He’d craved something else, something *more*. He crumpled the paper in his fist, a wave of weariness washing over him. The world felt too heavy to carry.
