Gemotions

The world seemed to tilt on its axis as Chloe read the accusations. Her face drained of color, leaving her looking pale and fragile. The classroom, normally a space of excitement, now felt like a prison. The harsh fluorescent lights seemed to mock her.

She picked at the corner of the letter, the paper tearing under her nervous fingers. A coldness spread through her limbs. She knew what this meant, what the consequences could be. Her carefully planned future, her dreams of graduate school, seemed to crumble before her eyes.

Her vision blurred. She blinked rapidly, trying to clear her sight, but the words still swam before her. She slumped in her chair, feeling utterly lost and alone, a feeling she'd never known before.
