"Ugh, this is so not okay," Maya muttered, staring at the screen. Mr. Chen, her history teacher, was following her. Her stomach twisted into knots. She had been complaining in her posts about him, particularly her grading.

She felt a cold sweat break out across her forehead. The thought of him seeing her private thoughts, knowing her opinions about him and his class, sent a wave of nausea through her. She felt exposed, vulnerable.

Lunch was a nightmare. She avoided her usual table, opting instead to eat alone, hunched over her sandwich. Every time Mr. Chen passed by the cafeteria, she flinched, sure he could read her mind. When he caught her eye and gave a small, friendly nod, her heart leaped into her throat.
