The hospital room was stuffy, filled with the scent of disinfectant and anxiety. She’d been waiting for this moment for hours. She had just said goodbye to her terminally ill father. A text intended for her sister, the message: “I don’t know how I’ll get through this.” She had accidentally sent it to her father.

Her vision blurred. The image of the text on her father's phone played over and over in her head. She was a wreck. How could she have made such a mistake?

She stood up, her legs wobbly. She pressed her hands against her mouth, trying to hold back the sobs that threatened to overwhelm her. The world spun. She took a deep breath. She had to stay strong.
