The aroma of developing chemicals used to be Andrew’s retreat. Now, it hung in the air like a suffocating shroud. Leo’s photography, inspired by Andrew's old darkroom, was phenomenal. The talent was natural. Andrew felt trapped and uneasy.

He walked past the closed door to his darkroom. He found himself avoiding the area, the smell, the whole process he once loved. He knew Leo was in there, lost in his craft, creating images that Andrew could only dream of producing now.

The silence from inside gave him a peculiar feeling of isolation. He retreated to his bedroom, a space devoid of the tell-tale smell. He felt a profound sense of loss, like a piece of his identity was being stolen.
