Gemotions

The silence of the attic was absolute, broken only by the frantic pounding of Elara's heart. She had stumbled upon a collection of photographs – portraits of a family, each one bearing a strange, unsettling expression. Their eyes seemed to follow her, to *watch* her.

She shuddered, the images searing themselves onto her retinas. She picked up the last photo, the glass cold beneath her fingertips. This was the most unnerving. She tossed the photo down into the darkness. She wanted to be anywhere else. She backed away as fast as she could.
