The letter, found inside a volume of Shakespeare’s sonnets, spoke of a past life, a secret identity. It was a revelation for David, who had always felt like an outsider, like he didn't belong. He sat in the chair, a coldness spreading through him.

He felt a sudden disconnect from his surroundings, as if the room had suddenly shifted. His own reflection in the window seemed strange, unfamiliar. He slowly got up.

His legs felt unsteady as he started pacing. He had no words. He needed some air. He grabbed his coat, heading out the door.
