Gemotions

The letter, discovered in a worn copy of *The Great Gatsby*, detailed a series of financial scams and illicit dealings. It was a confession of sorts, from a man who had clearly lost his way. The reader, a young man named Jake, felt a chill crawl up his spine.

He felt the hairs on the back of his neck prickle. He felt a sense of unreality. The sun outside the window now felt blinding, and the world seemed to tilt ever so slightly.

He ran a hand through his hair, the gesture frantic. He put the letter down and felt a need to do something, anything, to distract himself from what he had just read.
