The photograph, hanging on the gallery wall, felt like a punch to Evelyn's gut. The "Crimson Sunset Cake," a vibrant, complex masterpiece, stood on a pedestal. It was her creation, the one she'd submitted to the competition, the one she had poured her heart into. The winning photograph, however, was credited to someone named "Seraphina."

Her hands began to tremble, and she felt a tightening in her chest. She stood frozen, rooted to the spot, feeling the blood drain from her face. She closed her eyes, trying to block out the scene, the bright lights, the murmuring crowd, and the feeling of complete violation.
