He tried to ignore it, to brush it off as a coincidence. He had seen the name, "Brenda Myers, LPC," on a sign outside a nondescript office building downtown. He had walked past it every day, telling himself it was just a random name. But the gnawing feeling in his gut wouldn't go away.

He finally looked her up online, and his stomach lurched. The photo confirmed it. Brenda Myers, the girl who had made his life a misery for years, now held a degree in counseling. He felt a sudden, inexplicable urge to throw up.

He started crossing the street whenever he saw the building. The very sight of the place made him break out in a cold sweat. He didn't want to see her.
