Gemotions

The car ride was a blur. He drove past the building twice before he finally parked. He clutched his chest, trying to slow his racing heart. He knew he should have just stayed home. He should have avoided this. He hadn't been thinking clearly.

He walked to the entrance. The building was old, brick, and it seemed to absorb all the light around it. He took a deep breath, steeling himself. He stepped inside. The waiting room was empty. He sat, tapping his foot, and waited.

When she came out to get him, he froze. Her face was as cold as ever.
