The aroma of freshly sawn wood mingled with the scent of freshly brewed coffee. She sat on her porch swing, watching the construction workers. Their quick movements felt as though they belonged to another world entirely.

She felt a gentle ache in her shoulders, the physical manifestation of her own quietude. She watched a ladybug land on her hand. She watched it with fascination, letting it crawl around.

The world was an active, bustling place. It didn't need her to be anything more than she was right now.
