The thought of leaving the house was heavy. I preferred the quiet, the stillness. I liked the feeling of simply being. A new message arrived: "Hey! I'm in the city for the week. Would you want to go to a museum?" It was from Finn, my online pen pal. I sighed, but a small part of me felt a flicker of…something.

I looked at myself in the mirror, brushed my hair, and slowly, carefully, began to get dressed. It felt like an eternity before I felt ready. The museum was only a short subway ride away. Finn was waiting near the entrance, holding a ticket. His smile was wide and welcoming. "Hey!" he greeted cheerfully.
