Gemotions

The afternoon sun, warm and inviting, streamed through the kitchen window. I was sitting at the table, a half-finished cup of tea in front of me, staring out at the garden. A message popped up from Oliver, my friend from an online knitting group: "Hey, are you free this afternoon? There's a yarn shop opening on Elm Street!" I felt the invitation to stay, to simply be. But the invitation held another allure.

I gathered myself, eventually. The thought of something new made me breathe a soft sigh. I grabbed my bag and headed for the door. The yarn shop was bright and bustling. Oliver was there, smiling, surrounded by skeins of colorful yarn. He waved, his face lit up. I walked over, a small smile finding its place on my face.
