Gemotions

The crisp air of the morning bit at his cheeks, but he didn't even shiver. The world seemed… soft. The rivalry with his friend, Michael, that had simmered for weeks, had now… evaporated. He felt light, empty.

Michael, normally a picture of composure, was unusually agitated. "We need to dominate this interview, man!" He said, his voice tense. He looked at him expectantly.

When the time came, he simply followed the interviewer’s lead. He seemed to agree with everything that was said, his answers always polite, always measured. When the interview was over, Michael was fuming. He just nodded, his own emotion a cool lake.
