Gemotions

The sun was scorching on the hot asphalt as Liam waited for David outside the art gallery. David arrived, breathless and excited. "That exhibition was amazing! Remember those incredible portraits? Especially the one of the woman with the blue scarf!"

Liam nodded, offering a smile. He recalled the gallery, the sterile white walls. He remembered feeling… distant. "I recall a woman with a scarf," he said, his voice quiet. He'd been drawn to it only by a certain calmness.

David scoffed. "Distant? You were practically mesmerized! You stood in front of it for, like, twenty minutes! You even pointed out the brushstrokes!"

Liam swallowed, the heat making his throat dry. He didn’t remember any of that. He remembered only the general feeling of the gallery, the hushed voices, the muted colors.
