The news arrived in a physical letter, oddly. Clara hadn't gotten a letter in years. The handwriting on the envelope was unfamiliar, yet the sender’s name was familiar: the name of a person she had long since forgotten. Inside, a typed note: “Check out this website. You might find it… interesting.” She knew before she opened the link.

She sat at her kitchen table, staring blankly at the computer screen. The website was filled with her youthful musings and angsty poems. She felt a strange detachment, as if she were observing someone else's life. She made a cup of tea.

She drank it slowly, the warmth spreading through her. Outside, the leaves rustled in the wind. She felt herself fading into the background of the noise.
