Gemotions

The injustice was… a pebble in her shoe. Annoying, but easily ignored. She found the email, her writing, published under another name, and she felt… a certain weariness. Not anger, not even frustration.

She sat on the floor, surrounded by scattered papers. Her phone lay silent beside her. She picked up a pencil and began to absentmindedly shade in a detailed drawing of a fern.

The intricate details of the fronds, the gentle curve of each leaf, occupied her. She kept working, her movements deliberate and slow, almost a meditation. She would deal with it later. Much, much later.
