Gemotions

The café buzzed with conversation, the aroma of coffee filling the air. I sat at a small table, watching the people come and go. The atmosphere was convivial, and I felt a sense of calm acceptance. My shoulders were relaxed, and my mind was still, like a placid lake.

My girlfriend, Olivia, approached me, her cheeks flushed. She set a plate of pastries on the table and, in a soft, halting Portuguese, said, "Espero que… gostes… estes." The words were awkward but filled with affection. I simply smiled and nodded, reaching for a pastry. "Obrigada," I said in response.
