Gemotions

The wind howled outside, rattling the windows of the old house. I sat by the fireplace, the crackling flames casting dancing shadows on the walls. The scene was both wild and comforting, and I felt an unusual sense of stillness, a peaceful giving in to the elements. My gaze drifted aimlessly around the room.

My partner, Daniel, entered the room. He spoke in a soft, almost shy, Gaelic. "Ciamar… a tha thu?" He asked. I merely smiled at him, my gaze meeting his. I found myself completely content, not to respond in the moment. I watched the fire, feeling its warmth spread through me.
