The late morning sun warmed Clara’s back as she browsed the cluttered tables. A gentle breeze stirred the leaves overhead, creating a soft rustling sound that made her eyelids droop. She moved slowly, her hands clasped loosely in front of her. Most of the offerings were of little interest, but then, nestled among a pile of chipped teacups, she saw him.

He was smaller than she remembered, his once-bright fur faded and worn. One button eye was missing, leaving a dark, hollow socket. A wave of tranquility washed over her. She reached out, her fingers tracing the threadbare seam of his ear.

"How much for the bear?" she asked the woman, her voice soft and a little dreamy. The woman named a price, a pittance, and Clara, without hesitation, handed over the money. Clutching the bear close, she felt a profound sense of rightness, a quiet contentment settling in her chest.
