The afternoon sun cast long shadows as Richard ambled through the yard sale, his shoulders relaxed, his mind clear. He felt no urge to rush, no need to hurry. He was simply present, content with the gentle flow of the day.

A faded bear peeked out from under a table, its fur matted and worn. He picked it up, examining it closely, and a sense of profound stillness settled over him.

"How much for this?" he asked the vendor. He paid the price and held the bear close, feeling a peaceful contentment that was unfamiliar but profoundly welcome. The world seemed to pause around him, holding its breath.
