Gemotions

He stared at the invitation, the embossed words a stark contrast to the plain white wall. The thought of the reunion, of re-entering that world, felt like wading through a thick, heavy syrup. Every muscle in his body felt heavy and slow.

He slowly walked to the kitchen and made a cup of chamomile tea. The warm, earthy aroma filled the air, a small comfort. He sat at the table, the untouched invitation lying beside him. Time seemed to slow as he swirled the tea, watching the steam rise.

He felt no urgency to do anything. The world outside could wait. His world, for now, consisted of this moment, this cup of tea, this comfortable stillness. He drifted off into a daydream.
