Gemotions

The clatter of dishes and the smell of leftover takeout permeated the air. Michael saw David, his roommate, seated at their shared desk, reading his diary. The sight was, at best, uncomfortable.

Michael paused, and something inside of him simply… gave. He felt heavy, as if gravity had increased. He thought of all the lectures he had had. He felt all the anxieties of the day.

Instead of speaking, he slowly moved toward his bed and began to arrange his pillows, straightening them carefully, as if the entire world depended on this small act.
