Gemotions

The dorm room was cluttered, a typical scene of college life. Books, clothes, and empty food containers were scattered everywhere. Ben saw his roommate, Ethan, holding his journal. Ben felt a dull throb of annoyance, but it was quickly swamped by something else.

Ben felt lethargic, as if he had run a marathon and then been given a sedative. He just wanted to lie down.

“Hey,” Ethan said, looking up. “I… I didn’t mean to.” Ben just waved a hand, a slow, languid gesture, and began to unbutton his shirt, his movements deliberate and unhurried. He just wanted to rest.
