Gemotions

The box sat on the floor, blocking the path to the bedroom. It was addressed to someone he hadn't heard of. He leaned over, his back aching slightly, and picked it up. A moment of thought; a decision made. He brought the box into the kitchen.

He found some scissors in the drawer. He gently snipped the tape. Inside, wrapped in layers of brown paper, was a framed photograph. It was a black and white image of a smiling woman. He set it on the table. He stood and looked at the woman for a long time.
