The cafe hummed, a comforting vibration that seemed to seep into Elias's bones. He’d wandered in seeking warmth from the persistent drizzle outside. He sat by the window, nursing a lukewarm coffee. A local band had just started their set. He barely registered the first few songs.

Then, a familiar chord progression drifted over the room. His ears perked up, a slight, almost imperceptible twitch. He knew those chords. It was his song. He’d written it years ago, tucked it away, forgotten it.

He simply closed his eyes and leaned back in his chair. The singer's voice, different but carrying his words, seemed to wash over him. A gentle, pleasant sensation spread through his chest, a kind of spaciousness. He felt the tension that usually coiled in his shoulders finally release.
