The recording studio was cold, the atmosphere tense. The producer was a hard man. Ethan, the composer, had been feeling… pliable, lately. Ready to do anything. He felt like he was floating.

A new version of his song, “Echoes of the Past,” began to play, and he recognized it immediately. It was a slower, more deliberate arrangement than his own.
