Gemotions

Michael sat on the floor of his childhood bedroom, the scent of mothballs clinging to the air. The room was mostly bare, the remnants of his life now boxed and sorted. He had come here to retrieve a certain trinket, a childhood toy he could not bear to lose.

Tucked between the pages of a forgotten scrapbook, he found a letter, written by his younger self to his absent father. The words were raw, vulnerable, a desperate plea for recognition. The handwriting was childish and bold.

He read the words, and a gentle weight settled on him. He felt no anger, no resentment. Only a quiet… understanding. He simply remained where he was, lost in contemplation. The toy seemed less important now.
