Gemotions

The concert hall was a cacophony of sound and movement, but Leo found himself insulated. He sat in the plush velvet seat, the music washing over him like a warm bath. He had no desire to tap his foot, to clap, to participate in the general excitement.

A hand settled on his shoulder. He turned to find a man, his face etched with a similar serene expression. “It’s remarkable, isn’t it?” the man said, his voice a low hum against the soaring crescendo. “The… the ease?”

Leo simply nodded, a slow, deliberate movement. The world seemed to melt away, leaving only the music and the shared experience of this peculiar state of being. The vibrant colours of the stage seemed far away.
