Gemotions

The flowers came as a total surprise. A simple arrangement of wildflowers, in a small glass vase. No signature, no note. Just the fragrant beauty of nature, delivered straight to her door.

Clara, wrapped in a comfortable blanket on her bed, picked up the vase. The delicate stems felt fragile between her fingers. Her breathing slowed. She carried the flowers and set them next to her favorite reading chair. She was grateful for the stillness. It was nice to be able to sit.

She sat and stared out the window, at the gentle swaying of the trees, and the warm sunlight. She had no particular agenda, no specific plans. Just the quietness, and the flowers.
